Padel League of Ireland
A club-based team competition across Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connacht, with provincial divisions, doubles fixtures and a route to the All-Ireland Championship Finals.
Introduction
The Padel League of Ireland is a club-based team competition played across the provincial leagues of Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connacht.
Clubs compete within divisions designed for different playing levels, creating balanced and competitive matchups throughout the season.
Each team consists of 8-10 registered players, with 3 doubles matches played per fixture. At the end of the provincial phase, the top teams from each division qualify for the All-Ireland Championship Finals, where the Division 1 winner is crowned Padel League of Ireland Champion.

The Padel League of Ireland is played across the Leinster Padel League, Munster Padel League, Ulster Padel League and Connacht Padel League.

Divisions
Each provincial league may include up to three divisions. Each division may contain multiple groups depending on the number of entries.

Group Format
Groups are built around four teams. Each team plays every opponent once, giving every team three guaranteed fixtures.

Provincial Play-Off
Group winners advance to provincial play-off stages, where provincial champions and All-Ireland qualification are decided.

All-Ireland Finals
Top teams from each province qualify for the PLI All-Ireland Finals. The Division 1 winner is crowned Padel League of Ireland Champion.

Team Structure
Teams are built around registered squads, clear match lineups and captains who coordinate each fixture through the season.
Team Size
- Minimum of 8 registered players.
- Maximum of 10 registered players.
- All players must be registered before the start of the season.

- 6 players participate in each fixture.
- Teams compete across 3 doubles pairings.
Team Captains
- Responsible for fixture coordination.
- Communication with opposing teams.
- Submitting results.
- Confirming lineups.
- Ensuring all players are officially registered.
Match Format
Match Format
Each PLI fixture is built around lineup exchange, three doubles matches and weighted court points across the three courts.
LINEUP EXCHANGE
Team captains must exchange lineups 30 minutes before the start of each fixture.
TEAM TIE STRUCTURE
Each fixture consists of 3 doubles matches played simultaneously where possible.
FIXTURE RESULT
The team with the highest total points wins the fixture. This system encourages strategic lineups and balanced matchups.
Weighted Court Points
The weighted scoring system encourages strategic lineups and balanced matchups across all three courts.
Team Tier Structure
Each provincial league may include up to three divisions, with groups used where the number of entries requires a wider structure.

Window
Each matchweek is played within a flexible scheduling window of up to 3 weeks, allowing captains and clubs to coordinate suitable dates for their fixture.
Fixture Scheduling
The home team proposes 3 possible dates. The away team selects one option, with captains coordinating directly.
Rescheduling
Fixtures may be rescheduled only if court availability exists and both teams agree. Otherwise, the original fixture remains in place.
No-Shows and Discipline
Failure to fulfil a confirmed fixture may result in an automatic loss, disciplinary action, or possible removal from the competition.

Fees and Payments
Non-refundable PLI player registration fee.
Payment Notes
Players pay match court fees directly at the club on the fixture day.
The €20 PLI registration fee is non-refundable.
A PFI player licence number is required. Players who do not already have one can be issued one as part of the PLI registration flow.

League Registration
Register for the Padel League of Ireland
Players register through the PFI Padel Portal and pay the €20 non-refundable PLI registration fee. If you already have a PFI player licence number, use it during registration; if not, the portal can issue one as part of the league registration process.
