Kildare Village announced as the Sponsor of the PFI Women in Padel  Programme

The Padel Federation of Ireland (PFI)  is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Kildare Village as sponsor of its Women in Padel Programme, reinforcing their commitment to  supporting women in sport and encouraging greater female participation in emerging sports across Ireland.

The Women in Padel Programme is a 12-month nationwide initiative designed to increase female participation  in padel through structured coaching, social engagement, and competitive opportunities. Throughout the year,  participants will take part in weekly coaching sessions, open days, and community events including brunch  gatherings and mini-tournaments, creating an accessible pathway for new players while supporting the  continued development of existing athletes.

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports globally and continues to expand rapidly in Ireland, with women now  accounting for approximately 40% of all participants. The sport has also achieved a major milestone on the  international stage, having recently been recognised as a medal sport for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan,  marking a significant milestone in its global expansion.

The Padel Federation of Ireland, as the only National federation affiliated to the World Governing Body of Padel (FIP), is responsible for  promoting, developing, and regulating the sport at all levels.

Under the leadership of Naomi Nicholl, President and CEO of the Federation, PFI has played a key role in  expanding padel across Ireland, championing inclusion and creating opportunities for women within the sport  both on and off the court.

Through this sponsorship, Kildare Village continues to strengthen its support of women in sport and  community initiatives that encourage participation, confidence, and connection. By partnering with the  Women in Padel Programme, the Village aims to help broaden access to the sport and inspire more women  across Ireland to get involved in padel.

The partnership marks an exciting step in the continued growth of women’s participation in padel, supporting  both grassroots engagement and the future development of the sport nationwide.
